About Kinobe

Kinobe (chinobay) is a gifted Ugandan musician and philanthropist known for his inspired synthesis of African roots and global fusion. A multi instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, he is dedicated to bringing love and joy to people through his music and contributing to building healthier lives and communities for children and families everywhere.

Kinobe’s first international performance was in the Netherlands at the age of ten with his school ensemble and by 21, he had visited several countries in Africa studying and playing with celebrated musicians and connecting with communities. Over the years as a touring musician he has shared the stage with re-known musicians and exposure to the bright palette of musical cultures makes Kinobe a unique contributor to world music who brings a powerful world-roots-dance sound to festival main stages and concert halls as well as intimate solo and acoustic shows that showcase the diversity of the traditional African instruments.

As a creative – Arts producer, speaker and facilitator, he has given talks and workshops all over the world, extensively working with schools and collages to conduct residences and outreach exchange programs, which in most cases lead to commemorating concerts with local students.

Kinobe is proud to be a world ambassador for the Harmony Foundation (Canada) supporting their important work on environmental protection and social development and improving the lives of children and their families around the world. In 2013, with support from the Harmony Foundation he recorded a CD “Searching for Survival”, an uplifting expression of hope that people around the world can work together to make the world a healthier, more peaceful and just place to live for everyone.

Writing music with many global influences, Kinobe worked with UNICEF to support their campaign towards education for girls and he continues to use his voice as a musical meditation on peace and justice on our global generation.
