Kinobe is a Ugandan musician, creative arts producer, educator, and philanthropist whose work has been described as “some of the most exquisite music coming out of Africa today”. Since his youth, he has captivated audiences with his soothing melodies and upbeat world-roots rhythms that emanate from the diversity of the many traditional instruments he customized to develop his unique sound. The diverse textures of Kinobe’s music make it soothing, pulsing, meditative, invigorating and intimate —much of it a mix of original and traditional with global influences—but the sounds are uniquely his.

His performances and educational outreach programs provide a gateway into Africa through which he introduces Africa’s cultural arts, history and lifestyle rarely covered by mainstream media to global audiences most especially those in schools and colleges. These programs bring engaging hands-on experiences to local communities and can either be extended residences lasting 3-5 days with commemorative performances or short visits.

During his tours around the world, Kinobe has continuously worked with children and youth living in underserved communities, inspiring and empowering them to use the power of music to find purpose, restore dignity, nurture talent and build transformation. In 2010 Kinobe co-founded Dance of Hope, an initiative that uses the transforming power of music, dance and storytelling to educate and empower young people to become independent global citizens and improve life quality in impoverished communities. Through Dance of Hope , he has dedicated his life to using his music and voice to inspire and transform lives of children while helping them to build healthier, regenerative, peaceful and joyful communities.

Kinobe continues to tour worldwide, bringing his music to main stages across the world and igniting new collaborations to advance his cross-cultural global sound. In 2019/2020 he featured as a guest on a couple of concerts with the Grammy Award winning band Snarky Puppy, playing his customized Kalimba in a new approach. He continues to develop new techniques on traditional instruments, creating an authentic sound with a global appeal, mostly inspired by the influences he has experienced through his visits to many countries and playing with various musicians.
